Summary

Ryan Collins is a life long learner and driven educator who strives to provide students, teachers, and administrators the support they need.

Throughout his tenure at Kenton City Schools, Ryan has been driven to provide the staff and students the professional development and tools they require to succeed. One of his first achievements was writing a Raising the Bar Grant which awarded $175,000 to Kenton High School. He is also a member of the District Policy Committee and District Leadership Team, along with leading the District Technology Team. His responsibilities include a 5 year budget for the technology department and presentations at Board of Education meetings.

Since 2000, Ryan has not only helped with the integration of technology in the Kenton City School District, but has also led numerous presentations, keynotes, and workshops throughout the state. Through these experiences, he has become an accomplished educator and has gained valuable insight in the education field while expanding his personal learning network. In addition to his Director of Technology duties, Ryan has also been teaching career tech computer software, hardware, and networking classes for the Ohio Hi-Point JVS satellite program at Kenton High School for the past 3 years.

With the assistance of one technician and two part time teachers, the KCS IT department supports approximately 2,000 machines running several operating systems: Windows, ChromeOS, Linux, macOS, and iOS. Students in grades 7-12 are taking home laptops in our 1:1 laptop program using Chromebooks while students in grades K-6 experience a 1:1 program at school. For over ten years, KCS has been a Google school and also an Office 365 school. Mr. Collins believes in providing the right tool for the job and is willing to offer multiple solutions to staff and students.
